With over 30 years of experience in the utility locate business, Premier Locates Inc. provides accurate and reliable utility locate services for the utility and excavation industry. Everything we do revolves around safety and making sure everyone gets home safe at the end of the day. We are your Utility Damage Prevention Consultant and our focus is your safety. We understand that public and private utility locate requests can be challenging, however, we have streamlined our services to help you navigate the complex utility locate system. First and foremost, we find buried facilities, however, we help educate our clients to ensure that they know exactly what we do, as well as helping them understand their obligations and responsibilities when breaking ground. If you are a veteran, or just starting out your career in any type of excavation type work, we will help you understand the complexity of utility locates and will ensure your projects are completed on time and safe without incident. Did you know that before breaking ground in Ontario, it is required by law to have all private buried services located and marked prior to any ground disturbance? (Ontario Reg. 213/91: Construction Projects, Section 228)

PRIVATE UTILITY LOCATES
Prior to excavating on private property, anyone breaking ground must be aware that privately-owned buried facilities may exist within the work area and, based on Ontario Reg. 213, these facilities must be marked prior to any ground disturbance activities. These privately-owned buried facilities will not be marked when obtaining locates through Ontario One Call. We work with excavators and private landowners to locate and mark privately owned buried facilities on private property. Our Private Locate process ensures that all private facilities are accounted for before you dig on private property.
GROUND PENETRATING RADAR / CONCRETE SCANNING
There are many challenges with indoor renovation and investigation projects when having to cut or core a concrete slab. Many electrical and communications conduits, post-tension cables and rebar can be embedded within a concrete floor or just beneath it. You want to ensure that before you saw cut, core, or drill inside a building, that you scan the work area for these buried infrastructure. Our well-trained, skilled, and experienced technicians use a combination of electromagnetic locate equipment and high-frequency ground penetrating radar for every indoor project.
PUBLIC UTILITY LOCATE VERIFICATION
Have you ever felt uncomfortable with a public locate or have you received public locates that were not accurate that resulted in a damage? SEWER UTILITY LOCATES
Sewer locates are performed by inserting a small transmitter (sonde) into non-conductive sewer pipes. All sewer locates are performed with a CCTV Sewer cameras equipped with a sonde to allow the identification of blockages, pipe directional changes, and tee connections.
GEOPHYSICAL SERVICES
Unknown geotechnical and environmental liabilities can be expensive and hazardous to projects across Canada. We use state of the art geophysical technologies to accurately identify the locations of environmental concerns before they become a risk. PLI’s geophysics technicians apply extensive techniques that are used for geotechnical and environmental studies. We have perfected using these techniques to map the location of underground storage tanks for environmental investigations.
